300 Rally on Steps of City Hall for HASA

Four New York City Councilpeople Attend

NEW YORK, NY: Sept. 25, 2007: 300 people rallied at City Hall, many of them standing on the steps of City Hall with colorful banners and signs demanding "HASA for All!" The rally culminated in the delivery of two letters, one to City Council Speaker Chris Quinn and one to Mayor Bloomberg.

Ralliers want legislation passed that would expand the eligibility of benefits received from the City’s HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) -- which includes enhanced rental assistance and increased food and nutrition, and transportation supports -- to low-income individuals who are currently HIV-asymptomatic. This is known as HASA For ALL.
